Chess Caddy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Short version: Chess Caddy does not collect, store, or share any personal information. Everything you enter stays on your own device.

Information we collect

None. Chess Caddy has no user accounts and no server that stores your information. The tournament details you enter — such as player names, ratings, pairings, and results — are saved only in your device's local browser storage so the app works offline. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it to a file and share it yourself.

How your data is stored

Tournament data is stored locally using your browser's storage on the device where you use Chess Caddy. You can delete it at any time by using "Start over" in the app or clearing your browser/app storage. You can also export a tournament to a file to back it up or move it to another device — that file is controlled entirely by you.

Hosting

The Chess Caddy website and app are served as static files by a third-party hosting provider (Netlify). Like most websites, the host may process standard technical request information (such as IP address) to deliver the page; Chess Caddy itself does not collect or retain this information.

Children's privacy

Chess Caddy is a general-audience tool for running chess tournaments and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
